Topgear to stand at Capital Stud

Topgear has retired from racing and will commence his stallion career at Capital Stud in 2026.

Rated 123 by Timeform at his peak, Topgear was an unbeaten Group 3-winning two-year-old that had his biggest days when dropped to seven furlongs by Christopher Head in 2024 and 2025. He won the Challenge Stakes (Group 2) at Newmarket by a blistering 5½ lengths in
2024 and beat the subsequent Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Sajir by 1¾ lengths in the Prix du Palais-Royal (Group 3) at Longchamp in 2025 amongst a total of seven career victories.

Timeform ratings make Topgear the highest-rated son of Wootton Bassett that is retiring to
stud in 2026, with his peak rating of 123 being higher than those earned by Maranoa Charlie
(122), Camille Pissarro (120), Henri Matisse (118) and Unquestionable (114).

An outstanding physical specimen, he realised €200,000 at Arqana as a yearling, one of the very highest prices paid for a yearling colt by Wootton Bassett in Europe that year. As well as talent and precocity he showed during his unbeaten two-year-old season, he demonstrated
the soundness and temperament to thrive on the racecourse all the way into his six-year-old season.

Topgear will stand at a nomination fee of €7,500 and equity shares are available in him on
application.

Castle Star will complete the Capital Stud flat roster for 2026, standing for €3,000.
